Description: Magical Creatures & Messy Masterpieces
Get ready for a fun, messy, and imaginative adventure in art! In this creative class, young artists will explore two exciting projects: designing and sculpting their own magical creatures, and creating vibrant self-portraits with drip and splatter painting. They'll build whimsical paper mâché sculptures decorated with rhinestones, sequins, and colorful paint, and experiment with abstract painting techniques to craft bold, layered backgrounds for their expressive self-portraits. Along the way, students will learn hands-on art skills, embrace creative expression, and bring their unique ideas to life through sculpture and mixed media.

Class 2: Ages 9-11, Mixed Media Portraits

Description: Comics & Creative Portraits
In this vibrant, mixed-media class, students will bring their stories and portraits to life through cartooning, painting, collage, and sculpture. They'll design original comic book characters inspired by themselves, learn expressive drawing and storytelling techniques, and create a two-page comic using watercolor, markers, and hand lettering. In a second project, students will experiment with charcoal, paint, oil pastels, stencils, and 3D elements to build a dynamic portrait on canvas. This class encourages personal expression, creative exploration, and hands-on skill-building—resulting in one-of-a-kind artworks that are as bold and unique as the artists themselves.

Description: Go Big with Sculptural Art!
In this exciting class, students will think outside the box as they design and build large-scale paper mâché sculptures. Starting with sketches and hand-built armatures, they’ll explore abstraction, exaggeration, and scale to transform simple materials into bold, eye-catching works of art. Focusing on creative risk-taking and three-dimensional thinking, students will craft oversized creatures, abstract shapes, or surreal objects, learning how texture, form, and size can elevate their ideas.
